Collaborative Play Making

@ P.S. 130

Program Overview

Welcome to Hook & Eye’s after-school collaborative playmaking program! Together, we’ll create an original piece of theater from the ground up. Students will work solo, in pairs, and in groups to brainstorm ideas and create a brand-new play inspired by their own interests and imaginations. At the end of the semester, students will present their work to family and friends—a joyful celebration of their creativity, collaboration, new skills and growth. Join us!

Who & How We Do

Hook & Eye Theater

Hook & Eye Theater, based in Brooklyn, NY, mines themes from history, science, and myths, using radical collaboration to devise new plays. We blend incongruent source materials to disrupt the everyday, inventing uncommon relationships, blending genres, and crafting multigenerational stories that offer audiences visceral experiences moving through their heart, head, and civic spaces.

Hook & Eye has been creating theater with young people for the past decade. Our company members have extensive experience as Teaching Artists in NYC public schools, developing workshops, residencies, and comprehensive curricula for all ages.
